Insert New Page window

This is where you enter the details for creating a new page.

The elements of this window are described below:

File Name
You must name the file that will be created for your new page.

Only letters, number, the dash (-) and underscore (_) characters are permitted in filenames. Spaces are not allowed, but if you should accidentally use them they will automatically be converted to dash characters.

It is recommended that you name the page with relevance to its content as this helps search engine optimisation.

Examples of good filenames would be, about-us, car-sales and sky-diving-club.

Text for navigation bar link
Enter here the text that you want to appear in the website navigation bar for this page. There are no restrictions on text here. If you don’t want a link to appear in the navigation bar then preceed the link text with a # symbol.

Text for Browser title bar
Enter the text here that you wish to appear in the Browser program title bar for this page. This is very important for search engine optimisation so ensure that you enter a descriptive title here that includes your site's keywords.

Template
Depending on the design of your website you may have several different templates available to use. Select the one that you want to use for your new page.

Insert
You can choose to insert the page you are creating either above or below the currently selected item in the page list.
